“…Poison….” he gasped as it started to attack his insides. He gasped in pain, curling inwards, one arm gripping his stomach, the other the table. “Was… Did you…?”
“Med bay… don’t just stand there! HELP ME! TARDIS! MED-BAY!”
The Master watched in silence for several seconds, unmoving, taking in the sight of the Doctor as his body fought the poison. He could almost feel it himself, mentally calculating how fast it was spreading. They still had a few minutes.
“A please wouldn’t go amiss, you know…?”
His fist clenched as he groaned in pain, eyes squinting shut.
“Koschei PLEASE!” He almost begged, his forehead on the table, having curled tightly inwards.
Was that fear in his voice? Ask him he would deny it till he died, but he was terrified.
Koschei’s reaction was delayed, if only slightly, but then he finally turned around, wrapping his arms around her out of an instinct he thought he had buried too deep to ever resurface. Perhaps he had succeeded; the gesture was unpractised and awkward, but eventually he settled for holding her with a slightly concerned frown, one hand between her shoulders, the other subconsciously brushing back her hair.
“You alright there?”
“Much better now that I’m with you…” she mumbled he head on his chest. “I missed you… memories started to crop up, and then regrets that we didn’t surrender to each other earlier…” she kissed his jawline.
“Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re sayin’ you’re a good kisser even though y’ haven’t kissed anyone in this body?” A pause. “Doesn’t sound very convincin’.”
She squints at her. “Okay so my past selves we’re good kissers… it’s an assumption yaz, i mean, you could just kiss me if you want to find out what this body kisses like…” and then she blushed when she realised what she had said… but didn’t take it back.
Having been informed that there had been another pick up from a planet, Astos made his way to the room that they had been allocated. He checks them over, making sure that his patients are comfortable and don’t need urgent, immediate attention.
Satisfied, he scans them both and notes that they are not the same species. The Male, or what the scanner assumes to be male, is of Gallifreyan Species, Rare but not unknown. The One the scanner notes as Female, is Human in origin and he is satisfied that there will be no heath risks from most of the medicine that they might provide.
Nodding he turns to study the screen on the wall, making sure he didn’t miss anything from the scan.
Mabli smiled as she walked up the woman, a glass of water in her hand. “Hello there, Miss, glad to see that you’re awake.” She smiled.
“Im jus’ here to check up on yah, You’re no’ in pain or discomfort are yah?” She asked setting the glass on the near by table and proceeded to scan her. “Oh and th’ water is for you incase you feel thirsty, you’ve been out for a little over a day.”
Oh, he KNEW how much nerve it took for Rozen to ask that, no matter how easy going he tried to make it sound, and Jack had to admit, he was a bit surprised that the man had actually found the courage. Not that he was complaining, of course.
Rozen couldn’t help but laugh slightly in relief. “i- Heh.. I never thought further than that…” he rubbed the back of his neck. “i personally haven’t been on a date thats on Earth for… quite a long time…” he admits.
Usually it would be some distant planet or some exotic restaurant.. He had forgotten how a simple date felt like.
“We could… have a picnic… under the stars… Tonight?” He half asked half offered.
A slow smile spread across Jack’s face. “Now you’re talking,” he said. Simple was good. They’d met in a manner that was more than over the top – champagne and Glenn Miller on top of an invisible spaceship in the middle of the Blitz, and there was really no way to top that. So the best way was to not even try. Go different instead.
And in this case, different meant simple.
“Alright, you’re in charge of food, I’ll bring the wine. Deal?”
Rozen’s Face lit up. “Uh- Yeah! Its- its a Deal, and a Date!” He grins.
He knew exactly what to bring! “So what time shall we meet back up? And shall we meet here or-?”
“Doc’ta, please, you’ve saved the ship, so i really think you should sit down.” The young Medic fretted. “You’ve no’ let your self rest, you’ve been too active and yo’r spleen is STILL settlin’… You need to let it rest.”
“Im sorry Sir, but you cant go in there!” Astos called after the man, practically running to catch up. “Thats Staff and Family Only.”
He slid in front of him, stopping the man from going any further. “Im Dr Astos Bon, Chief Medic of Rezus One. How about you tell me who you are here, for and ill see what i can do…” He told him calmly.
@madwomaninabox13 – asked for a starter from Astos. – Everyone Lives AU.
The medic pressed the button on his neck as he slid to the ground feeling hopeless.
“I’m sorry Doctor… I’m…. im in the escape pod… the door has closed…. I can’t get it open…” he informed her, his voice grim.
“The countdown has started… the escape pod is… it’s being deployed…”
He wasn’t sure if he was getting out of this or how…
“Astos!” she yelled into her comm piece. Forget her injured spleen, she took off running for the escape pod.
She made it there in record time, despite her shorter legs, and pounded on the door. “Astos! Stay with me, mate. I’m gonna get you out of there. Stand back!”
Drawing her sonic, she zapped the door and it slid open. “Hurry! Get out here now!”
Eyes wide, he had actually thought he was as good as dead. He rushed out the pod chamber, in such a rush that he crashed into the hallway wall and then slid down it as the adrenaline calmed.
“Astos?! Astos are yoo alrigh’?!” He heard Mabli practically scream down the com.
“Im Fine Mabli… The Doctor managed to get me out in time.” He replied, leaning his head back against the wall.
“Thank you Doctor… I thought i was done for…” he said looking up at her, still a little out of breath, but that would pass once he fully calmed down.
“But- But you were DEAD!” Was his first words that he uttered after getting over the shock of Jack gasping back to life.
The man had been stone cold dead, having failed to save his life when he had been picked up injured. He had no idea what had happened, but the man was now alive, gasping for breath, Astos being the ONLY medic in the room to have witnessed it…
“…I was just about to log you in as deceased…” He told him as he gripped his shoulders, steadying him so that he didn’t fall off the medical bed.
Still wincing, Jack tried to orient himself in his surroundings. He grabbed onto Astos’ arms that were steadying him, leaning on them as the pain of death left him.
“Well, I’m glad I saved you the trouble,” he said, his eyes settling on the doctor and oh my. “Captain Jack Harkness. And judging by the dress, you’re a doctor?”
He quirked an eyebrow up at him. This sure was going to be an interesting 24 hours.
“I am.” he nods. “Chief Medic, Dr Astos Bon, Now i advise you to lie back down so i can check you over. You may have come back to life, which im very happy about, but im not going to for-go the check up because of that.”
Astos gently pushes him back, showing that he didnt actually have a choice, and kept one hand on his shoulder as he crouches down to scan his arm.
