“It’s just… Well you see, I think everything’s terrible anyhow. I’ve been everywhere, and seen everything, and done everything. I’ve had a very bad time.”
He shook his head and pulled him over to sit on the couch, running fingers through his hair gently. “No, I think I’ve hurt us enough times by now that neither of us should ever be expected to take control of everything. That’s why I love you so much. You temper the side of me that wanted to be cruel. I don’t always mean it but I refuse to regret who I am and what I feel.”
Theta hummed happily instantly relaxing under his fingers. It’s was something of a pressure point for him, one that calmed him down when ever someone played with his hair or massaged his scalp.
“You know I love you for you right?” He asked softly.
He smiled at him, cupping his face despite the regret he felt for having always used the Doctor’s compassion against him. “You’ve always been my entire world. I hated it when you left me behind, but I never hated you. I couldn’t as hard as I tried to, because I knew why you ran.”
“I’m sorry Koschei, I truly am…” He whispered, softly, biting his lip and covering his hands with his.
He raised a brow at that. “Its fine, im sure we will manage without your reasoning… ive gotten us out in the past im sure ill do it again.”
The Master rolled his eyes. “Yes. You’ve gotten us out of plenty of scrapes. Just you. All on your own. Just Theta Sigma Lungbarrow. The Doctor. Based on pluck and swoopy hair.”
The Doctor pouts. “Heeeyyy… I contributed quite a lot to those ideas.” He was sure of it… Tho he didn’t add that the bits that Koschei put in where the bits that actually got them out alive… he was stubborn like that.
“Have you ever just, sat down, and thought about… where and what actually went wrong? Well, i have and I know what went wrong… but have you ever done that?”
“Yes, well, everyone gets disappointed once in a while.” The Leather wearing Time Lord grumbled. “She was good okay, i thought she would be a good one to show the universe too…” he shrugs.
