“Okay, that’s fine with me. If that’s what will make you feel more comfortable then sure… all I want is to travel with my friend.”

“And for your information, I didn’t lock him in the vault and I travel by using my vortex manipulator.” Missy sat back in her seat and finished her tea.

The Doctor was still wary, taking another triangle carefully. He managed to eat that one without hindrance, “So…you got bored? That’s why you called me? What about my future self? The one you were with?” So many questions.

“Mhm, just that… we both know that when I’m bored I cause chaos… so, as I’m trying to be good, I decided to call you. And as for why *this* you… well, I’ve seen your future self practically everyday since the day I regenerated, I’ve never met your next self, the one after you… I just missed this regeneration of yours.”

“Won’t my future self be a little…I don’t know…worried that you aren’t with him? Or does he trust you this much already?” he reached out for a third slice, not realizing how hungry he had actually gotten before this point.

“Believe it or not, he does.” she told him seriously.
“Would you like me to order you something to eat? you seem hungry.” She asked taking the menu when she saw that he was practically eating all the sandwiches.

“I wanted to see your reaction to being told you are doing it wrong.” the woman confessed, walking to his side and leaning over him, not caring for personal boundaries.

“Now it could be anything really, most of what I’m thinking of would be far too complicated for your tiny little mind, yet I could build in mere moments… and I once built a gun out of leaves…”

“Typically my reaction to someone telling me I’m doing something wrong is to do it anyway and prove they were being stupid. I’m very very rarely wrong.” He twisted a wire and the whole thing hummed to life, though what said whole thing was might take some examination. Whatever it was, he had it on repulsor floats as he stood, one hand out to keep it stable as he turned his attention from it.

“And seriously, you beautiful, but clearly uninformed, person you, it’s always better to not presume where I’m concerned. I’m Tony Stark, my byline is impossible things.”

“I know who you are dear Ive met you before, Tho I was a man back then. It may have been centuries ago for me, but I never forget an interesting entrepreneur.” Missy didn’t care to tread carefully.

“Perhaps… Once you are done here, you would like to see some more impossible things, Hmm?” She asked him.

She gave a slightly bitter laugh.

“No, I’ve never thought about it, never had too… yet now, now I keep thinking of all the people that I killed… each day I remember more and more… I never knew I knew their names… but I do, every single one…” She looked at him.

“The Guilt hurts and it’s eating at me…. I want it to stop… Being cruel… it let me forget, it let me not care…”

The doctor nodded his head slowly trying to show sympathy but felt that he fell short feeling that it was a good thing. For a long time, she needed to feel the pain she caused, although he would always offer to advise if he could.

“Missy, do you want to forget again or do you want to face it?” he asked, walking over to pour a drink for both of them and passing her a glass. “Believe me, your not the only one to do something regrettable and there’s no good way of dealing with the issue I’m afraid”

He sighed. “I can’t offer a quick solution but I can help you if you mean to change your ways.”

Missy took the glass, staying silent for a moment.

“And in what way would you be able to help?” she asked in curiosity.
She didn’t really like the idea where she had to change herself.
Couldn’t she still be herself while trying to reform?

He very nearly chocked on the sandwich, coughing and sputtering, “H-how?” the Doctor shook his head, nearly rising from the table from surprise. He had to take a few sips of the tea to clear his throat before sitting back in the seat.

She gave him a slight glance of concern.
“Are you okay? And as to how… well… baring in mind that I’ve regenerated and you still have yet to meet my past regeneration again… all I can say is that I had a cult following and they resurrected me.” badly… but she decided to not add that, he would find out later, in his future.

“You shouldn’t be here. You’ll mess with the time lines,” he took another sip, coughing again to finally clear out his throat, “I’m fine…I’m fine.” He didn’t comment on Missy’s interest in his health.

Missy practically pouted.
“Aww~ Come now, do you really think I won’t be careful? Ive missed this regenerate of yours… makes me wish we spent more time together and not just during that dreadful year ‘that was a complete and utter failure of a plan’.”

“Last I remember, you kept me aged and feeble that entire year,” he said dryly, his eyes hard, “I’d rather not repeat that, thank you very much.”

She put her hands up in mock surrender.
“I promise I’ve grown out of that, I’m a changed TimeLord… quite literally.” Missy grinned.

She grabbed a sandwich and took a bite.
“So… if I asked to come with you… as a companion I mean… would the answer be a no, then? Cause from what I recall, you wanted to take me with you and keep me on the TARDIS.”

“You haven’t provided a lot of good references,” the Doctor scowled, “Why should I trust you? You may have changed your face, but that doesn’t mean anything.”

Missy soured at that and gave him a slight glare.

“Okay, fine… 70 years, locked in a vault, with only your company and trying to learn how to be good… tho I don’t see how it will ever work when your future selves version of *good* is selfish and sentimental… something I refuse to be… is that good enough evidence?
Do you really think I’d be out and about, 930 years earlier than I’m meant to be, if you didn’t think I could be trusted alone?” The woman huffed and took a sip of her tea.

@tooxoldandtired

Missy was sat at a table, in a cafe, in central London.
Now you would think that it wasn’t anything wrong with that.
And there wasn’t. Yet she wasn’t just sitting there for the fun of it.
No Missy wanted to meet a friend.

A friend she was about to send a message to, to their psychic paper.

-:Meet you at the Quaint little cafe
on –Great Russell St, Bloomsbury, London-
51.5178° N, 0.1268° W – Jul-13-2017
It’s called Tea and Tattle. xXx
P.S I’ve got Tea and cucumber sandwiches ordered.:-

The Doctor didn’t often receive messages upon his psychic paper, which made him rather curious when he got one from an anonymous person. The TARDIS wheezed into place at the coordinates given and, after a fond pat from the Time Lord’s hand, he was out.

The cafe was quaint, just like the message stated, and he found himself searching for the person who had sent the message. So far, there was only a dark-haired woman sitting outside, who…was waving at him. Must be the one. He strode over and sat down, flashing a smile.

“One minute and forty-five seconds, I must say, I’m impressed m’dear… Tea? Sandwich?” Was the first thing Missy said as the other sat down.

She placed a cup in front of him and pushed the plate over so he could take a triangle.

“You are probably wondering why I called you here… well, for one, it was boredom, loneliness… take your pick they are practically the same thing. Another reason was that I missed you and I wanted to spend time with a friend.”

The TimeLady knew he wouldn’t recognize her, but it was fun to confuse the man, make him wonder and ask questions for a bit.

“The TARDIS does find it amusing to mess with the timing,” he said awkwardly, dropping a couple of sugars into his tea. He was trying to place her, but nothing was slotting into place for him.

“I am sorry, but…who are you?” he asked, setting his cup down before reaching for one of the triangles. They did smell awfully good and he was a bit hungry.

Missy laughed softly.
“I knew you wouldn’t recognize me…” She smirked and took a sip of the tea.
“Then again, my senses were always better than yours. My name is Missy, short for The Mistress… female version of…” she trailed off hoping that he would finish that sentence himself.
