//I’m concerned that people will see my ThirteenXSimm content and think that I somehow condone a heterosexual-only reading of Thoschei and Time Lords in general. LOOOOOL no. Let me be perfectly clear here: this ship is NOT STRAIGHT. There would be nothing wrong with it if it were, but it’s NOT, because that erases gay identity in the source content.
Just a FIRM reminder that DoctorXMaster is not only canon, it’s also NOT A STRAIGHT SHIP AND IT NEVER HAS BEEN. The entire point of their love, and their hate, is that it transcends boundaries of both sex and gender (two DIFFERENT existential dimensions!). They have been in love as two men, as a man and a woman, and in the future it’s entirely plausible that they’ll be in love as two women. Just because they’ve been in love as a man and a woman, or could be as another manXwoman combo, does NOT make them straight. Someone who is bi, ace, or pan is not suddenly “straight” if they become attracted to someone of the opposite gender.
Furthermore, ALL Time Lords are what, by categorically limited human definitions, is “queer.” They are nonbinary (or agender if you prefer, or genderfluid, if you prefer, all discrete states of being), even if they are masculine or feminine expressive, because regeneration enables them to change their sex and their gender. Therefore their “sexual orientation” is literally always in flux; if you need to define it, it could be pansexual, though some Time Lords are also canonically asexual.
The only thing the Doctor, Master, and other Time Lords are not? Is straight.
It’s not “in our heads.” It’s not “the gay agenda” tainting your precious source material (what does that even mean, anyway? Even if it were a “projection” of a fan’s “bias,” which it’s NOT, then hello, welcome to Reception Theory, and the well-established idea in fandom discourse that you can reclaim and recontextualize content to have more personal meaning and representation).
So the slew of ignorant self-centered anons circling the community right now can thoroughly have the door hit their asses on the way out. Once again: learn to SHARE.
