“Rose… Is that you?” Ten blinked in surprise. The last time he’d seen was….well a time he didn’t want to think about. “Oh Rose…. I hope you’re real..”
The blondes head shot up at the familiar voice and her eyes widened.
“Doctor!” She practically shouted.
She had jumped from the other universe to this one, wanting to find the doctor, so that he could help her figure out WHY she wasn’t aging and WHY she still looked 20 after 10 years of being in the other universe.
At the moment she had been frantically trying to fix the teleport button that she had, but it was fried and she was on another planet, stuck and wasn’t even SURE if it was the right dimension.
She sprung up and rushed over to him, wrapping her arms around him, hiding her face as the stress caught up to her and she started to cry.
Oh yes, Jack may have been constantly surrounded by other mermaids (and mermen) but none of them had ever really captured his attention. Not in the way that the one little mermaid who always seemed to avoid him.
He considered her a friend, especially when she, himself, and their friend John hung out, but it always seemed like she was impossible to get alone. So when he found a moment, he skirted off his admirers, feigning a previously promised appointment, and headed straight for Rose.
“Hey, Rose!” he called, swimming towards her. “Wait up!”
Rose turned back towards the sound of her name being called and almost stiffened at the sight of Jack swimming towards her.. but relaxed, he was still her good friend.
She quickly looked behind her to make sure that he was talking to her and then smiled at him.
“Heya Jack! How are you today! I though you would be hanging out with John today? Or is he with Riv?”
“Can you believe, he had the nerve to stand me up?” he asked, sounding absolutely affronted even though he was mostly joking. “Must be River, yeah. Which means I am completely and totally free – care to take his place?”
Rose laughed softly at that, her eyes squinting slightly in mirth.
“Yeah! Course i will!” she beamed and swam over to him happily. “What were the two of you going to do? or are you gonna do some thing different now?” she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear looking up at him.
Was she trying to subtly flirt? Yes, yes she was, it was all about luring the male in and letting you get him by being yourself… or thats what her friend Martha had told her… thats how Martha got her Mate, Mickey… she just hoped it worked and that by tonight she actually got a kiss from him….
“So.” He said toggling switches around the console. “Where’d ya wanna go next? We’ve got all ah time an’ space.”
“I dunno… “ Rose shrugged leaning against the console watching him with a small smile. “How about we find a nice planet and have a picnic? hmm? Or do some ice-skating?”

As the Doctor pelted into him, Jack was still a little to confused to completely process what was going on. They’d been looking for him? Well, that sure was news to him, but frankly, he’d take it. Any bit of good news was welcome, and he was getting utterly fed up with his current lot in life.
It took only a quick second before he was hugging back – only to immediately let go in favour of hugging Rose so hard, he picked her right up off the ground.
“You were what? My wrist strap – it burned out the second I ‘ported off the space station. Wound up in Cardiff, 19th century,” he said, as if that explained everything.
Rose Laughed happily as she was picked up off the ground and kissed Jacks cheek. “Oh gosh, we have missed you. I’m sorry about him, Jack, i have no idea what he was thinking!” Rose apologised when she was set back on the ground.
Rose smacked the Doctor’s arm at the knowledge of where jack had went.
“OW!”
“See! I toldyou we needed to check the 19th century again, but nooo, you were all – ‘Oh no, Jack wouldn’t be there, not good old Jack, thats not a very fun era to be for him, Jack would probably prefer the future if he went somewhere.’” She quotes tutting and rolls her eyes.
She then smiled at Jack again, ignoring the Doctors whining, who was rubbing his arm.
“But never mind that, Come on, Grab your drink, Doctor, Get ours and lets all go back and sit at the table. We have so much to catch up on!” Rose beamed cheekily, grabbed Jacks hand and practically pulled him back over to the table she was sat at, leaving the Doctor to sigh fondly and smirk at jack, before grabbing their drinks, paying for them and joining them at the table.
“So! How are you?” Rose asked Jack, sitting down in the middle of the curved booth, making it obvious that she wanted both men on either side of her.
It was such a rush to hear that Rose had tried to find him. Well, the Doctor too, but Rose had never lost hope. He shouldn’t have lost hope either, and even though he might have, it didn’t much matter now, not when they were each carrying their drinks back to the table together.
Jack slid in on one side of the booth, making sure he was nice and close to his old friend (maybe close enough to easily take her hand, if he ever worked up the nerve – he’d wait a little bit longer, try to read her and the Doctor’s relationship a bit more).
“I’m… well, I’m good. Been in Cardiff for the past while, working for Torchwood. What about you? Been all over the place, I’m guessing?”
The Doctor slid into the booth on Rose’s other side and gave Jack a fond smile, Enjoying how happy the young woman was.
“Huh… Torchwood? whats that?…” The Doctor tilted his head slightly in curiosity only for Rose to ask. “Isn’t that the House that we stayed in when we saved Queen Vic from the werewolf and got banished?”
“Could be. Anyways… yes, lots of places, lots of traveling, Like Rose just mentioned, Got banished from the British empire-” “after being knighted by Queen Victoria,” Rose piped up with a teasing smile, which caused him to roll his eyes at her.
“Before that i got my hand chopped off on christmas day, after queen Vic, I Met up with my old Companion Sarah Jane, Saved Madame de Pompadour, fell into an Alternative universe were the Cybermen had only started uprising and just recently, we had been on an impossible planet, which was in stable orbit around a black hole with the Devil hidden in the core.” He grins.
“That was a fright… we thought that we lost the Tardis for good… it fell under the ground with no way to get to it…” Rose added biting her lip. “Lucky us, it had fallen into the cave where said devil was and i got it back when i fell down there.” The Doctor wrapped his arm around Rose, comforting her slightly.
“So… have you got anything interesting to share?” Rose asked taking Jacks hand, linking their fingers together. “Any friends? You have a team right? what are they like?”
