(from here)Any smile that he had on his face, disappeared and hurt replaced that expression.
“Wha-…?” The last time he saw him, Koschei had left himself… saving his life…
“Well don’t look so offended,” the Master hissed. “You stole a TARDIS and left, how did you think I was going to feel about that?”
“Oh…. I…” he sighed and dragged a hand down his face when he realised what he was talking about.
“You mean back then… way back then…” a bitter laugh left his lips.
He also knew he didn’t mean about the time he took Susan and ran…
But the one BEFORE that, the first time, the one where he ran, and in Koschie’s opinion, never came back.“I ran from my father.” He hoped that he wouldn’t ask him about it.
“The second time, Susan contacted me and asked me to get her away from Gallifrey… I of course had not stolen a tardis the first time… that was the second time… i coudn’t find you the second time…”He had wanted to take him, the first, he wasn’t in his right mind,
that time he just needed to RUN.The Master’s expression darkened even more at the story, leaving him half-growling, even if he wasn’t quite sure at what yet.
“You could have found me the first time,” he hissed sharply. “If you wanted to get away from him-… I would have gone with you. I’d been ready, just waiting for you to make the choice and come tell me. But you never did. And I stopped waiting.”
He closed his eyes, his face looking like he swallowed a lemon. “Fear And instincts are a powerful thing…” he mumbled softly.
Rubbing his eye, his shoulders slumped slightly. “Would you believe me if I confessed that I had tried to go back to get you once the fear passed and I realised where I was?” He laughed bitterly.
“I tried everyday for 2 years, then every second, then once a week, then I would try every so often… the stupid ship never took me back… then I tried a different date and I couldn’t find you…” he sighed.
