“ You might just as well say,” said the dormouse, who seemed to be talking in her sleep, “ that ‘I breathe when i sleep’ is the the same thing as ‘i sleep when i breathe’! “
Ooooh! I reckon Braxiatel knew about Theta and Koschei and saw it from the start and would just watch from the background, rolling his eyes and muttering under his breath when he think Theta or Koschei can’t hear him and now you’re making me write a small fanfic. I’ve not written in a long while so here goes ;D
–
“Koschei’s cute.”
Irving was reading from the data pad when he heard Theta mutter these words. He didn’t look up, too absorbed in the words for the research he had to do on his final examination paper.
Theta was on his back in the garden with his older brother, looking at the burnt orange sky and he gave a dramatic sigh when his older brother didn’t respond and he rolled onto his stomach, resting his chin in the palm of his hand. “Irving” He whined pathetically like a child not getting the attention from his parents despite the fact Theta was 68 years old.
“Hmm?”
“I said Koschei’s cute.”
“How quaint.”
Theta scowled and he lunged forward, taking Irving’s datapad from him and moved out of reach. “’What you reading Braxy?”
“Theta Sigma! Give it back! I’m doing extremely important research!” Irving snapped and he used his long arms to reach for it but Theta pushed him back with his other hand and they both fell to the ground in a messy heap.
“Not until you listen to me!” Theta panted, glaring at him as the brother’s fought for the data-pad.
“I am listening,” Irving scowled but then he see’s Theta’s look and sighs. “Fine.” He gives a dramatic sigh, making wild hand gestures as he sits up. “I’m all ears. You like Koschei. I’ve noticed.”
Theta blinked. How did his brother notice? Irving never notices anything these days. Too absorbed in his so-called exams and his future career. Father was ever so proud of him even if Irving was too serious at times. And arrogant. “Y-You noticed?”
“It’s obvious,” Irving let out a little laugh. “In fact, I think the whole Academy has. I know Ushas and the Deca know.”
“Ushas says she knows everything, only when it comes to science,” Theta rolls his eyes.
“Well maybe you and Koschei are her science project,” He shrugs and swiftly collects the data pad that Theta has now forgotten he was holding and wipes the screen with care.
“We’re not her project!” Theta protested. He was not another science experiment. That he was certain of.
“Yes, you are.”
“Am not.”
“Am too.”
The brothers looked at each other long and hard before both breaking into a smile. “You think Koschei likes me back?” Theta asked hopefully.
“I know for a fact Theta.” Irving pushes his glasses back up his nose. “He flirts with you without shame.”
“F-flirts?” Theta spluttered, having not noticed this. Koschei teased and bullied him all the time! That wasn’t flirting, was it? “He doesn’t flirt!”
Irving managed to look up from his screen and gave Theta a pointed eyebrow as if too say; ‘Are you sure about that?’ and Theta folded his arms across his chest and sighs. “Alright. They flirt.”
There’s a man called the Doctor. He lives on a cloud in the sky, and all he does, all day every day, is to stop all the children in the world ever having bad dreams.
