“Have you ever lost someone you love and wanted one more conversation, one more chance to make up for the time when you thought they would be here forever? If so, then you know you can go your whole life collecting days, and none will outweigh the one you wish you had back.”
“You don’t need to call me ma’am,” the woman said, smiling. “My name’s Ororo. Can I come in?”
She was doing her best to put on a friendly face, to put the teen at ease. She knew that this was a delicate mission, that the girl should be rightly suspicious of her, but it was still essential that she talked to her, found out if they could help or not.
She pursed her lips. “Lets play a game, if you can guess the password, then you can come in, if not you will have to convince me why i should.”
The Password was of course, multiple choice to see why they were here. the first, for the hell of it, was the word Mermaid. If they said that, then the woman knew what she was… If they said Water, then they knew of her power to control it.
Anything else, then they were here for something entirely different and she would not be comfortable with her in her home, unless they convinced her.
Ororo smiled. She could appreciate that kind of hesitancy, and if anything, she was glad for it.
“I can do things with water too. Here, look.” She opened her hand, palm up, and a small little storm cloud formed, followed by a little shower that drenched her hand. If Aquata looked at her eyes while the little storm raged, she’d noticed that Ororo’s eyes had gone slightly milky, a light white film covering her otherwise blue eyes.
The child gasped and the Door swung fully open, before the child rushed forward to get a closer look.
“Oh Wow!” She beamed up at the older woman and without hesitation flicked her hand to gather the water that had fallen up into a ball to check if it was real water.
“You made it rain! with a tiny Cloud!” she was positively giddy and gestured for the lady to come inside. “Come on in, you passed with flying colours, i wanna hear what you have to say Lady.” She Grinned closing the door behind them, before leading the way to the couch.
